Summerwood Veterinary Surgery is located at 229 High Street, Blackwood, South Wales and serves the pet owning population of Blackwood and surrounding areas.
Summerwood Veterinary Surgery became part of the Summerhill Group in September 2006. Summerwood has been recently rebranded from 229 Veterinary Surgery and its high standards of caring, service and professionalism are embodied in its new image.
Summerhill Veterinary Centre is our 24/7 emergency centre and was established in the late 1960’s by Mrs Jean Morris. It has progressed from a single consulting table in one room, to purpose built premises at 43 Summerhill Avenue.
Jamie Allen bought the Practice in 1998 and pursues the practice vision of a personal, caring and affordable veterinary service of a high standard for all our patients in a pleasant and friendly environment. Summerhill Vets now encompasses 8 vets and twenty support staff who are all committed to helping you enjoy the company of your pets. There are extensive facilities on site to deal with virtually any pet in an emergency. Summerhill's caring and professional services are carried on throughout all our surgeries.
The Summerwood team offer a dedicated veterinary service, enhanced by top of the range in-house laboratory facilities, constantly improving surgical facilities, nurses' clinics and a structured programme of continuing education. We have access to a team of specialist referral vets should your pet require their assistance.
At Summerwood, we believe in promoting active health care with our clinics run by our enthusiastic and experienced team of veterinary nurses.
Summerwood Veterinary Surgery is also a PetAid Practice working with the PDSA as a charitable veterinary service to clients who are pre-registered with the PDSA. For more information click here
